Hold a wrist roller out in front and rotate your wrists to wind and unwind the weight, working the forearm muscles through repeated wrist flexion and extension.
How to do the Wrist Roller#
- Stand with feet about shoulder-width apart and grip the roller with both hands so your palms face downward.
- Extend your arms straight in front of you at shoulder height and brace your core to keep the upper body still.
- Rotate only your wrists to wind the rope and raise the weight until it reaches the roller.
- Reverse the wrist rotation to lower the weight slowly and under control until the rope is fully unwound.
- Repeat for the planned number of reps or for the chosen time interval.
Muscles worked#
- Primary: Forearms
- Secondary: Front delts
Common mistakes#
- Bending the elbows and using them to shorten the lever arm.
- Leaning or swinging the torso to help roll the weight.
- Letting the weight drop quickly instead of controlling the descent.
- Rotating too fast and relying on momentum rather than wrist strength.
