Watch ↔ iPhone sync is automatic and usually instant. When routines aren't appearing on the watch or a finished watch workout hasn't reached your iPhone, work through this list in order.
Quick checks#
- Open Gript on your iPhone and bring it to the foreground for a few seconds with the watch nearby. This forces a fresh sync in both directions and resolves most cases.
- Check Bluetooth and Airplane Mode on both devices. In the watch app's settings screen, the iPhone row shows whether the two are currently connected.
- Make sure you're signed in on the iPhone — the watch mirrors the account that's signed in to the phone app.
- Restart both devices if the connection status stays "Not connected" while the devices are next to each other.
A finished workout hasn't synced#
The "Unsynced workouts" banner means the workout is safely queued on the watch. It transfers automatically when the devices reconnect — opening Gript on the iPhone with the watch nearby is the fastest way to trigger it, and the banner clears the moment the iPhone confirms it received the workout.
Routines look outdated on the watch#
Routine changes sync when the iPhone app is running (foreground or recently used). If a brand-new routine isn't on the watch yet, open Gript on the iPhone once and give it a few seconds with the watch in range.
Still stuck?#
As a last resort, uninstall the watch app from the Watch app on your iPhone and reinstall it — but only when there are no unsynced workouts. If sync still fails after that, send us feedback from the iPhone app and we'll dig in.
