Lie on your back and alternately reach down to tap each heel, using short lateral trunk movement to work the abdominals. The exercise emphasizes controlled repetitions to engage the core.
How to do the Heel Taps#
- Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor about hip-width apart.
- Draw your ribs toward your pelvis and press your lower back gently into the floor to brace your core.
- Keep your shoulders on the mat and reach your right hand down to tap your right heel, using your abdominal muscles to move.
- Return to center and then reach your left hand to tap your left heel; continue alternating taps in a controlled rhythm for the set.
