Lateral Box Jump

Explode laterally onto a sturdy box and land softly, using the legs—primarily the quadriceps—to generate and absorb force. Repeat by stepping down and alternating sides each rep.

How to do the Lateral Box Jump#

  1. Stand beside a stable box with feet hip-width and knees slightly bent, eyes forward.
  2. Bend your hips and knees, swing your arms, and push off to jump sideways onto the box.
  3. Land lightly on both feet with hips and knees softly bent and your core engaged.
  4. Step or controlled-hop down to the original side, reset, and perform the next rep, alternating sides each time.
