Skater Squat

A single-leg squat variation that lowers your body on one leg while the other leg extends behind, primarily working the thigh muscles.

How to do the Skater Squat#

  1. Stand tall on one foot with the other leg slightly extended behind you for balance.
  2. Hinge at the hips and bend the standing knee to lower your hips toward the floor, keeping weight through the heel.
  3. Allow the non-working leg to extend back as you descend while keeping your torso upright.
  4. Pause briefly near the bottom without collapsing forward, then press through the heel to return to standing.
  5. Complete the desired reps, then switch sides.
