Press a weight plate straight forward from chest level, driving the movement with the pectoral muscles. Maintain a stable torso and controlled motion throughout.
How to do the Plate Press#
- Grasp a weight plate with both hands at chest height, elbows relaxed and close to your sides.
- Brace your core and keep your shoulders down and back.
- Extend your arms to press the plate directly forward until your elbows are nearly straight.
- Pause briefly with the chest engaged, then slowly return the plate to your chest under control.
- Breathe out as you press and inhale as you lower the plate.
