Plate Press

Press a weight plate straight forward from chest level, driving the movement with the pectoral muscles. Maintain a stable torso and controlled motion throughout.

How to do the Plate Press#

  1. Grasp a weight plate with both hands at chest height, elbows relaxed and close to your sides.
  2. Brace your core and keep your shoulders down and back.
  3. Extend your arms to press the plate directly forward until your elbows are nearly straight.
  4. Pause briefly with the chest engaged, then slowly return the plate to your chest under control.
  5. Breathe out as you press and inhale as you lower the plate.
