Lift your body into a tucked L position and hold it to work the abdominal muscles through an isometric hip-and-core contraction.
How to do the Tuck L Sit#
- Sit with your hands placed beside your hips and press your palms into the surface.
- Straighten your arms and lift your hips so your weight is supported by your hands.
- Draw your knees toward your chest and tuck your legs so your thighs are close to your torso while keeping your shins forward to form the tucked L shape.
- Maintain a tall chest and engaged core while breathing steadily throughout the hold.
- Lower your hips back down with control to exit the position.
Muscles worked#
- Primary: Abs, Hip flexors
- Secondary: Triceps, Front delts, Chest, Lats
Common mistakes#
- Collapsing the chest and rounding the upper back.
- Allowing the hips to sag instead of keeping them lifted.
- Straightening the knees and losing the tucked position.
- Holding your breath during the hold.
