Perform a low-angle cable fly by drawing the handles upward and together across your torso to emphasize horizontal adduction of the chest muscles.
How to do the Low Cable Fly Crossovers#
- Set both cable pulleys to the lowest position and stand centered between them with a staggered stance.
- Grasp the handles with a neutral grip, brace your core, and hinge slightly at the hips so your torso tilts forward.
- Begin with your arms out to the sides and a small bend in the elbows; keep your shoulders down and back.
- Pull the handles upward and inward in a controlled arc until your hands meet or cross in front of your chest, squeezing the pecs.
- Slowly return the handles to the start position under control and repeat for the desired reps.
Muscles worked#
- Primary: Chest
- Secondary: Front delts
Common mistakes#
- Using too much weight so the motion becomes a press.
- Allowing the elbows to collapse or bend excessively.
- Shrugging or letting the shoulders drive the movement.
- Relying on momentum instead of a controlled eccentric return.
