Drag Curl

Perform a standing barbell curling motion that flexes the elbow to load the biceps muscle. The movement raises the bar toward the upper torso and then lowers it under control.

How to do the Drag Curl#

  1. Stand upright with feet about hip-width apart and hold the barbell with an underhand grip at roughly shoulder width.
  2. Keep your chest up, spine neutral, and elbows positioned near your sides.
  3. Bend only at the elbows to curl the barbell upward until your forearms approach your upper arms.
  4. Slowly lower the barbell back to the starting position, fully extending the elbows while maintaining form.
